  • Properties

7% AOC E aluminum drier is a highly efficient through drier which forms coordinative bonds with the available hydroxyl groups in the binder system. It must be used in addition to surface driers like cobalt and manganese. However, 7% AOC E will react with all types of hydroxyl groups including primary alcohols and water so care should be taken to minimize the content of these materials when using this drier. The reactivity of 7% AOC E helps reduce film yellowing which is common in these binders. Higher gloss, greater water resistance, improved chalk resistance and higher gloss retention have also been noted in many high solids formulations.
