Borchi® Gel L 75 N is a polyurethane based, non-ionic liquid rheology modifier for pigment wetting and stabilization that is free of alkylphenolethoxylates (APEO), organo-tin compounds and VOC’s. It is a HEUR thickener that develops viscosity stability in water-based coatings mainly in the medium shear range between 1000 s-1 to 10000 s-1 depending upon the binder type and other ingredients in the coating.
Although mainly used in the medium shear range, Borchi® Gel L 75 N provides well-balanced efficiency in medium and high shear ranges. Benefits of this rheology modifier include pigment wetting and stabilization, promotion of flow and leveling, prevention of sag and the ability to not cause yellowing or chalking in the cured film.
Borchi® Gel L 75 N can be used in universal applications for brush and roll. It has been known to provide success in anti-corrosive coatings. Borchi® Gel L 75 N can also be used in aqueous two-component polyurethane, as well as epoxy systems and other air or oven dried binders.

- Develops viscosity stability in water-based coatings mainly in the medium shear range
- Improves rheological properties of water-based coatings systems for easier brush and roller application
- Does not yellow or cause chalking in the cured film
- Organo tin-free
- Acrylic gloss
- Small particle size emulsions
- 0.1 – 2.0% on total paint formulation
Gloss paints may require a higher amount. The exact dosage should be experimentally determined. The thickening action of Borchi® Gel L 75 N may be reduced by polar, water soluble film forming solvents such as alcohols, glycols and glycol ethers. However, low polar solvents such as butyl diglycol acetate and Texanol® will increase the viscosity effect.
Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
