Manganese drier in solvent-based systems
Appearance Clear, very high-viscous, brown-red liquid Metal content Mn: 9.80 – 10.20 % ISO 4619 Non-volatile content NA Viscosity Max. 5000 mPa.s (20°C) ISO 3219 (A) Specific gravity NA Density 0.990 – 1.030 g/cm³ DIN 51757 (20 °C) Solvent Parafinic mineral oil
• Based on metal salts of 2-ethylhexanic acid (octoates) or their isomers
• Promotes surface- and through-drying
• Usually used with cobalt
• High atmospheric humidity severely inhibits the effect of manganese
- Printing inks
In our experience, the percentage addition of iron, calculated on the metal content per binder (solid), is approx. 0.01 – 0.05 % Mn. The exact amount required depends on the binder used.
Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
