Combination drier for oxidatively drying systems


Octa-Soligen® 146 is a combination drier suitable for all solvent based oxidative drying and can be used in either clear or pigmented systems.

  • Properties

    On account of its balanced metal content, Octa-Soligen® 146 ensures uniform drying of the paint film. As it has low cobalt content, it keeps the film open long time to ensure optimum through-drying and to improve the hardness of the paint film. Coatings dried with Octa-Soligen® 146 HS show optimal drying characteristics even after the coating is stored for an extended period of time.

    Octa-Soligen® 146 is ideal for use in pale-colored formulations.

  • Applications

    Octa-Soligen® 146 is suitable for use in all conventional alkyd systems. It is particularly recommended foralkyd urethane coatings and high-solids systems.

  • Dosage

    Octa-Soligen® 146 can be added to the coating at every formulation step. Previous dilution in solvent or resin is not necessary. We recommend the addition during the let-down before the addition of anti-skinning agents. The addition of Octa-Soligen® 146 depends on the type and amount of binder used. Generally speaking, the addition is between 3 and 5 %, calculated on the solid binder content. The exact amount required must always be determined by preliminary trials.

  • Storage

    Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures below 50 °C.

    Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product
