Description

Octa-Soligen® 27 is a very versatile combination drier developed to meet the technical requirements of the coatings industry.

Octa-Soligen® 27 produces optimum drying characteristics in all medium-oil and long-oil alkyd resins.

  • Properties

    The composition of Octa-Soligen® 27 yields an ideal synergy between the metals. Cobalt ensures rapid surface drying whereas zirconium, a secondary drier, promotes through-drying. Calcium stabilizes the drying power and develops a synergy with the other metals.

    The combined action of these different metals ensures uniform drying which improves the hardness of the paint film.

  • Applications

    Octa-Soligen® 27 is entirely stable and can be used in medium-oil and long-oil resins.

  • Dosage

    Application trials have shown the addition of Octa-Soligen® 27 to be between 4 and 6 %, calculated on the solid binder and depending on the binder and pigments used in the formulation.

    If using highly adsorbent pigments with a high specific surface, it may be necessary to also use Octa-Soligen® Calcium 10 (see technical information on Octa-Soligen® Calcium 10).

  • Storage

    Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures below 50 °C.

    Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
