Wetting and Dispersing Agent for Nitrocellulose Paint Formulations and Solvent-Based Alkyds
Borchi® Gen 911 is a modified polyester wetting and dispersing agent. This dispersant works well in nitrocellulose-based formulations for lacquer and other types of paint, as well as printing inks. Borchi® Gen 911 also works well in solvent-based alkyd coatings.

Nitrocellulose Paint Formulation
Nitrocellulose is a substance typically used in lacquer paints, which are coatings that produce hard, durable finishes. Nitrocellulose is great for use in lacquer paints because it provides the durability needed to decrease dry times and retain color. Lacquer paints with nitrocellulose are an ideal option for spray guns. While they are typically clear in color, some lacquer paints are black or white.
Solvent-Based Alkyd Paints
Alkyd paints cure by oxidation for a hard, glossy finish. They contain a resin that acts as a strong binder, making these paints ideal for applications that see a lot of traffic, such as kitchens or play areas.

This dispersant additive also provides excellent storage stability for finished paint formulations.

The exact dosage should be experimentally determined through a ladder study. Borchi® Gen 911 should be added to the mill base before adding the pigment. Active on pigment loading:
- Titanium dioxide: 1 – 3 %
- Inorganic pigments: 5 – 15 %
- Organic pigments: 10 – 30 %
- Carbon blacks: 40 – 80 %
Protect from the effects of weather and store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
